Deaf and a Vermont native, Christopher Tester lived and worked in New York City for nearly 15 years as an American, British Sign Language, and International Sign interpreter, consultant, educator, and trainer.
He is currently a Ph.D student at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Certifications
Christopher holds the Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI) credential and the Speciality Certificate: Legal (SC:L) from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). These certifications reflect advanced expertise in both general and legal interpreting contexts.

- Former Special Projects Coordinator and Investigator at the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights.
- Interpreter instructor at CUNY's ASL-English Interpreting program in New York City.
